Cat Fight
There is a cat fight on my living room floor right now. It's pretty intense, yet highly humorous. Someday I need to capture video footage of the daily cat fight. All my attempts to photograph it have failed because they move too quickly. Also, they spring apart guiltily when they catch me watching.
First Jolee baits Starbuck by lying on his side, blinking his blue eyes and appearing fluffy and innocent. She can't resist-- her butt starts to wriggle and she pounces. He slaps her with his giant paws. She goes for the jugular, burying her face in his neck. Oh! Starbuck for the takedown, flipping onto her back so she can kick Jolee repeatedly in the chin with her back feet. But he reverses the equation, popping up onto his feet. He's in the clear! He leaps! It looks like he's squished her... ow. And then she's up again, and here's the pitter patter of rampaging cat feet as they fly apart to regroup.
Oh, cats. Now Starbuck is behind the door, and Jolee is bouncing back and forth from the hallway to the office, obviously hoping to entice her to attack. Jolee is the funniest to watch-- he's more babyfaced than the baby, really. His face is round and fuzzy and blue-eyed, while Starbuck has this lean pointed look to her. She's a scrapper, but Jolee always has this goofy look, like, "Me? Fight? I just happened to be posing here in a vulnerable position."

I love cat "fights"! Mine usually consist of Pretty stalking Tai, falling down on him from out of the sky or, if they're on the tree, her poking/biting him on the hiney. Then the chase ensues, and then the tumble which looks like some sort of twisted greco-roman wrestling match. Tai "rabbit punches" Pretty (hind feet to the chin) she rabbit punches him back, the careen around the room, drop on my head a few times and then flop down exhausted on the floor. It's really too cute and always makes me laugh. Occasionally, I've got to break things up cause Tai gets a little rough and makes Pretty cry.
Dobby does the rabbit punching thing too... Hilarious. And he falls for Merlin's tricks every time. Dobby can wriggle out of the wrestling match usually... and then he streaks down the hall and up the stairs and Merlin tries to follow, but he's a fatty and it takes him longer. ;)
Poor Hugo, who's approaching the ripe old age of 4 on April 1st, always gets attacked by Mouse. Which then involves a long drawn out chase around my room which has me worried that either my laptop, printer, or linen curtains will end up toppled in the mess. The worst thing is, I can't fuss at Mouse to stop since he can't hear!
